Memory Verse
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8).
Text: Isaiah 40:6-8.
A story was told of a rural farming community that was hit by severe draught. The local church called for a prayer meeting. Almost everybody in town showed up. The Pastor noticed an eleven-year-old girl in the front row. She had an umbrella, poised for use. Amazingly, the Pastor compared the child’s faith with that of others in the church. Looking at the congregation, he announced, “The rest of us came to pray for rain, but she came expecting God to answer.” The young girl received God’s Word and banked on it. What a challenge to Christian youths!
Some people think that the Word worked only for people in Bible times – the eras of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Elijah, Elisha, Jesus, Peter and Paul. Have you not seen people who received miracles in contemporary times? God does not lose His power. In various nations God is still using His ministers who have faith in His Word to do miracles, signs and wonders. You can be used of God too if you bank on His Word.
Quote
Bank on God’s Word, it can never fail.
Challenge
God does not lose His power.
Prayer for today
Help me Lord to believe the totality of Your Word.
