Look Away From Bad Things

Key Verse

“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.” Psalm 101:3

Text — Psalm 101: 1-7
Message

On December 16, 1997, many Japanese children experienced various neurological problems, including epileptic seizures while watching the popular cartoon series named “pocked monsters”. Over six hundred children were taken to hospitals. The incident is referred to in Japan as the “Pokemon shock” (Wikipedia).

The whole world is full of bad and ungodly actions that can corrupt the heart, mind and character of children and also negatively affect their health. Examples of these are Pornography, dirty sites on the internet, watching idolatrous practices or festivals, violent or occultic films, ungodly games and Cartoons. Whatever evil thing you set your eyes on to watch will set on evil thoughts, dirty imaginations and unholy emotions in your heart, and eventually set your feet on the destructive way to hell fire.

The wordings of this chorus shows us the danger of looking at bad things “O be careful little eyes what you watch, for there’s a Judge up above Who is looking down below, O be careful little eyes what you watch” God commands that you should keep yourself pure and turn your eyes away from anything that can pollute your heart, mind and life.

If you have the dirty habit of watching any bad thing, repent today and ask for cleansing in the blood of Jesus. Make up your mind never again to set any bad thing before your eyes.
