Blessedness Part 3: Blessed Are The Meek
Thursday, March 5, 2026Key Verse
“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5
Text — Matthew 5: 2-5
Message
Merriam Webster dictionary defines the word meek, as enduring injury with patience and without resentment; to be deficient in spirit and courage; not violent or strong. The world that is filled with boastful and haughty people considers the meek and lowly as weak or even foolish fellows. They see him as someone who cannot stand up for his right, a person or a child without courage or boldness. In a society where only the ‘strong’ and ‘daring’ can have the best, how could the meek be considered blessed? Christ is saying, salvation and forgiveness cannot be obtained by violence and force. Divine blessings are for those who humble themselves before God and consider themselves underserving of God’s favour. It is in the habit of lowliness and regret that we can qualify for God’s mercy and grace. The haughty thief on the cross missed Christ’s forgiveness while the humble and repentant one went with Christ to heaven.
If you humble yourself and come to the Lord in repentance and regret, He says He will not cast you away but will bless you with mercy and forgiveness
