The Gods Are Dead
Tuesday, March 3, 2026Key Verse
“They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish” (Isaiah 26:14).
Text — Isaiah 26:12-14
Message
A songwriter once sang, “All other gods are the works of men… among all the gods, there’s none like Thee.” The song reaffirms God’s unchanging power and greatness and also reveals the nothingness of gods or idols. They are dead gods, having eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear – they are the works of men’s hands. As a youth, you may be tempted to serve idols or false gods. But these gods are powerless and can’t add value to your life.
They can’t be trusted, and can’t save one from the bondage to sin and Satan. The devil uses them sometimes to perform fake miracles to deceive people and to harden those who believe in them. Why rely on such gods when you can trust the Almighty God who never changes? The truth is, those gods are dead gods. Having access to the living God requires repentance and surrendering of your life to Jesus Christ and obeying His word consistently.
