Message
“The faintest ink is sharper than the strongest memory.” This ancient maxim underscores the importance of note-taking. Whether it is during a live class, personal study or Bible study, note-taking will help you to retain far more knowledge than you will without it. Our God is a record keeping God (Exodus 32:16, 32, 33); and He teaches His children to do the same. He keeps record of past, present and the future events.
In order to develop an effective note taking habit, you need to: i. Have a pen and paper handy at all times. ii. Pay full attention when studying or taking a lecture – this will ensure that you don’t miss out on any important point or details. iii. Promptly write down key points or facts as they strike you, as great inspirations do not linger long, if not penned down. iv. Record only important points. v. Go over your note after each study session. Effective note-taking helps you to stay organized, improve information retention, listen actively, comprehend and engage in critical thinking.
