Key Verse
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Text — Isaiah 40:28-31
Message
“Wait and ensure the battery of the phone gets charged before you leave for the excursion,” said Tessy’s mom to her daughter when leaving for her office. Tessy was impatient and did not wait for the phone to be well charged before she unplugged it. Before long, her phone battery was fully discharged and the phone went off. Painfully, she could not use the phone to take the pictures she had planned to take while on the excursion.
Many people today, including children, are impatient and unwilling to wait enough for things that would help them become the best God wants them to be. They are impatient during fellowship time whether at home or in the church. They rush over their quiet time without reading the Bible but just manage to read the Sincere Milk devotional piece without meditating on what they read and praying about it.
Waiting on God is a choice every friend of Jesus must make. The key verse today reveals to us that those who choose to wait on God would have their strength renewed and be strong through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. They would have the grace to overcome temptations and evil. There are great possibilities and rewards for those who learn to wait on God by praying, reading, and meditating on the Scriptures daily.
