“The Greatest Joy Ever”
Tuesday, July 29, 2025Key Verse
“Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20
Text —Luke 10:17-20
Message
A young boy once said to his elder sister, “you keep telling me to get close to God and walk faithfully with Him. I can’t really see the reason why I should be close to God. I am a brilliant chap, I am not sickly and I have a great complexion and build: name it, I am far better than others in many ways.” The sister responded with a beautiful smile on her face and said “what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his soul.” The greatest joy anyone could ever have is to have his or her name written in the book of life; which guarantees eternity with Christ.
Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus; it was only in this life that the rich man had his prosperity, but in eternal life he had no place; what a pity! As a friend of Jesus, our joy is not just in the things of this world that fades away, but in the hope of eternity with Christ. Have you tasted of the joy that comes after you experience salvation? If not, why not today. Quietly speak to Jesus now and surrender all to Him.

Prayer for today
Dear Father, help me to always count the joy of heaven greater than the joy of possessing things of this world.
