“Godly Virtues – Part 1: Patience”
Tuesday, July 22, 2025Key Verse
“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” (Hebrews 10:36).
Text —Hebrews 10: 35-39
Message
A young boy planted few yam seedlings. After a month he went there to “harvest” his yam only to discover that the plant was just sprouting. In rage, he pulled out everything and scattered the heap. The farmer waits patiently for the seed to grow, mature and yield the expected fruits. A farmer cannot hasten the ripening since he cannot control the rain, the sun, and the seasons. He must of necessity patiently wait until the regular course of time before he gets a harvest. Likewise, we cannot control or hasten the events which are under God’s control.
In this jet age, saints should not lose their cool. The mad rush is visible everywhere. Everyone wants to be on the fast lane. Students hastily write and submit assignments, as well as test and examination scripts. Be patient enough to finish well before you hand in your scripts. Are you seeking admission to an institution of higher learning? Don’t cut corners, work hard and be patient. God’s Word says, “In your patience possess ye your souls” (Luke 21:19).
