“Who is This Jesus?”

Key Verse

“And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ” (Mark 8:29).

Text —Mark 8:27-30

Message

Three blind men were trying to describe an elephant. One called it a mountain because he touched the body.  Another said it was a huge hand fan because he had touched its huge ear flap. Yet another touched the long trunk and declared that the elephant was a strong tree branch. Each man described the small part of the elephant that he encountered; in reality, an elephant is more than the picture each man had painted.

A person or thing that is difficult to understand or figure out is referred to as an enigma. To the ordinary people of His day and, surprisingly, to His disciples, Christ remained an enigma. The crowds that swarmed Him for miracles considered Him to be either Prophet Elijah, Moses or just one of the prophets. Only Peter got it right. The truth is, Jesus is whatsoever you need Him to be in your difficult hour. Are you burdened by sin and guilt? Jesus is the Saviour. Are you sick? Jesus is the Healer. If you are needy and discouraged, Jesus is The All-sufficient Provider. If, however, you fail to accept Him as Saviour today, you will surely meet Him as Judge in eternity.

  1. I observed at the end of the reading of the Higher Everyday, no further Bible reading. There’s Bible reading at the end of Daily manna and Sincere meek. I think, this is an oversight.
