Key Verse
“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:20).
Text — Ephesians 5:19-21
Message
Sometimes thanksgiving may be flattery or intended to get a favor from a king, or any other individual. One thing is clear, a sincere compliment is expressed in acknowledgment of a person’s greatness and impeccable personality.
In our text, believers are encouraged to speak to one another in psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs. Equally, they were exhorted or instructed to sing and make melodies to the Lord, in appreciation of Him. Believers are expected to express gratitude to God for all they have received from Him and remain submissive. As we thank God, either in congregational worship or during our personal devotion, we must do it with an understanding of who God is: His greatness and majesty as the King of kings. Thank Him in a heart-felt and God-honouring manner.
