Text —Matthew 7:16-21
Message
Here is a short conversation between John and an interviewer.
Interviewer – Hey, John, how are you doing?
John – I’m good; and you?
Interviewer – Good!
Interviewer – I will like you to answer some questions
John – Go ahead
Interviewer – Your full name, please
John – John Joseph
Interviewer – Are you a Christian?
John – Yes, pretty much. My name is John and my surname is Joseph
Interviewer – When did you become a Christian?
John – I was born a Christian. I go to church every Sunday; my daddy is a pastor. I give my offering. In fact I’m a member of the school choir.
John 3:3 tells us that except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. No one is truly a Christian without the experience of the second birth. You must be translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Jesus, the only Son of God Who shed His blood to make us free from our sins. Sin is what separates us from God, and no matter your religious background, once you call on the name of the Lord for cleansing of your sin, you will be saved. Remember, a sinner is not a Christian. A Christian is not a sinner. There is no sinning Christian. Seek the Lord for mercy today.

Prayer for today
Dear Father, I realize that bearing a Christian name doesn’t mean I am truly Yours, save me today and help me to abide in You forever.
