Message
Many people think that going to church occasionally or bearing “Christian name” makes them a Christian. But the Bible presents a different picture and definition of a Christian. A Christian is someone whose behaviour and heart reflect Jesus Christ.
What does it mean to be a Christian? According to our Bible passage a Christian is someone who has compassion like Christ. The good Samaritan was passing by and saw a man who was robbed and wounded to the point of death. He had compassion on him and took him to the hospital to be taken care of. Others saw him and passed by and did nothing. The Samaritan was not even a Christian, but his action was like that of Christ. Are you like the Samaritan? Or are you like the religious people who earlier saw the wounded man and passed by?
Search your life and ask yourself if the life you live shows the characteristics of Christ. If you are not compassionate or showing love to your neighbours, then you need to be sorry for your wrong doings and repent. Compassion, love, care, and humility are Christlike characteristics that every friend of Jesus must desire to possess. Be a real Christian and God will bless you.
