Friday, July 12, 2024Key Verse
“When Joab and all the host that was with him were come, they told Joab, saying, Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.” 2 Samuel 3:23
Text — Samuel 3:23-27
Message
Our Bible passage tells a very sad story of revenge that ought not to happen. The matter made the king of Israel sad and tearful. God too, would not have been happy with these people. Joab would not have known that Abner came to see David. Abner would have gone in peace and Joab may not have shed blood in this case, but for the saying of the people. Joab deceitfully brought Abner back and killed him. Most quarrels and fights have happened as a result of what people say.
What do you tell others, your father, mother, teachers and friends? What you tell others can either cause them to act right or wrong. What you say can remind others of what they should rather forget and make them to do what they ought not to have done. You will bear the punishment if what you tell others cause them to hurt other people. Today, keep your mouth shut. If you must talk, allow the Spirit of God to direct you to speak words that will bring peace and love among others. Pray and commit your tongue to the Lord.
