“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).Text — 2 Corinthians 4: 5-7
Collins’s dictionary defines earthen vessels as an object made of clay that is baked so that it becomes hard. However, being earthen and not iron, it is prone to perishing. In the medieval days treasures were kept in earthen vessels for safety. As believers, we are treasures in earthen vessels, meaning our bodies. Note the treasure is more precious than the vessels and must be used as God wills.
God did not place us on this earth just to go to school, have a good job, drive nice cars, get married, and have children. All these things are good but the day we came into this world, God had in mind an assignment or role for every one of us to fulfill.
The Almighty God, our Creator, has interest in your life and wants to use you for His glory. To be a treasure in earthen vessel as a youth you must first surrender your life to Jesus completely and allow the Spirit of God to dwell in you and use your gifts to His glory.
Use your gifts to His glory
The treasure is important.
Prayer for today
Lord, help me to prioritize the treasure in me.
