“The Living Dead”
Monday, May 26, 2025Key Verse
“But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.” 1 Timothy 5:6
Text — 1 Timothy 5:6-8
Message
Is it possible for a dead person to be seen walking about, eating, running, playing and doing things that living people do? It sounds incredible and unbelievable. No one has seen such a thing. However, our key verse shows that it is actually possible for a “dead person” to still be alive. It is like an idiomatic expression to show the seriousness of the message the Lord is passing across to us. To be dead while still living means to be spiritually blind and deaf and separated from the living God. Such a person does not have the spirit of life. He is like a corpse who is helpless and worthless. The cause of such state of being is SIN.
The spiritual state of a living dead shows that he, like a physically dead is unprofitable to God and men, hurtful and infectious. Also, his evil communication corrupts good manners. The living dead is blind and cannot see or understand the things of God. He is selfish and love the things of this world more than the word of God.
The word of God warns that we should not love the things of thisworld. Loving it will make us become the enemies of God.
The will of God for you is that you repent and turn away from dead works of the flesh. Ask Jesus for pardon and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Ask the Saviour to come into your heart so that you can experience His life-giving water of life. Your life will be turned around and you will be transformed from the dead works to become a new creature.
