Message
Jesus shares a parable about ten virgins awaiting a bridegroom. The wise virgins prepared extra oil, whilst the foolish virgins didn’t. When the bridegroom arrived, the wise virgins were ready, their lamps burning brightly. The foolish virgins, realizing their lamps had gone out, begged the wise for oil, but were advised to go and buy for themselves. The wise virgins entered the marriage feast, while the foolish virgins were locked out.
The parable emphasizes the importance of readiness and vigilance in our faith. The lamps symbolize our testimony, while the oil represents the Holy Spirit. The wise virgins are prepared, filled with the Spirit, and actively living out their faith, whereas the foolish virgins are those who are spiritually unprepared. Believers must develop a deep relationship with God, seeking His presence and guidance daily. Jesus reminds us that we don’t know when He’ll come, so we must be diligent, watchful, and prepared. To enter the joy of His presence and the marriage feast in heaven, we must prepare now while we have time, as only the righteous will be with Him on that great day.
