Message
A fox is a small, tricky animal with a flat skull. We are told that a fox is an expert hunter. It can hear a watch ticking from 36 meters away. A fox makes 40 different sounds to say different things. It has special eyes that can see clearly in the night. The term “Fox” is used to refer to a clever and crafty person. How very crafty was Herod!
Do you remember that one Herod asked the shepherd looking for baby Jesus to come back after they have found Him, so that he would go and worship Him too? Was he really telling the truth? Do you also remember that Herod killed John the Baptist using his birth day vow as a cover up? Herod killed James and wanted to kill Peter, the disciple of Christ, making the Jews to believe he was pleasing them. Jesus called him by his name. He was a “fox”, so wicked so tricky! It was his tricks that killed him. He made himself equal to God (Acts 12:21-23).
Do not behave like that fox. Do not play with tricks and lies. Do not hurt other people. Repent and be truthful and righteous like your Saviour.
