Key Verse
“And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?” Genesis 18:23
Text — Genesis 18:20-36
Message
Our text reveals the story of Abraham pleading on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah when God wanted to destroy them. We know the result of that prayer; Lot and his family were saved and did not perish with the city. A lot of children are selfish in their prayer that they do not remember to pray for others. Remember, Jesus our Saviour is seated on the right hand of God and praying for us. We need to pray for others because some people would never get saved if we do not pray for them. Also, the evil that could have been prevented would occur if we do not pray for others.
We need to pray for others because Jesus commands us to do so. Praying for others makes us spiritually strong and helps us to be great intercessors just like Jesus Christ. Also, by praying for others, we cause joy in their lives without knowing and that will make Jesus happy. Our needs also will be met when we make it a point of duty to always pray for other people. Therefore, pray for others.
