Key Verse
“Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.” Numbers 25:11
Text — Numbers 25:6-13
Message
The children of Israel provoked God by joining with idol-worshippers to do evil. God was angry at them therefore, He pronounced judgment of death upon them. While their leader Moses, was still trying to sort out those who should be punished, a man among them tried to prove stubborn by bringing in a strange woman to commit immorality with her. It was a very bad thing to do. Thank God for a man named Phinehas. He rose up to execute Judgment on the immoral man and the woman. God commended his action and pronounced blessings on Phinehas. God is holy and cannot allow or accommodate evil. If you are a real child of God, you must have zeal to preserve holiness in your family, church and community.
Do not cover up the wrong doings of your siblings, friends, classmates and neighbours. You should correct them and report them to the appropriate authority. Stand for the truth, defend it and spread it all around you. God will bless you for promoting righteousness in your own time.
