Key Verse
“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain” (James 5:7).
Text —James 5:7-11
Message
As children of God, trials and tribulations come to test our resolve to follow the Lord. But we must be patient during tribulation. As seen in our text the word patient appears twice in verses 7, 8 and also in its noun form (patience) in verse10. The Christian youth therefore needs the virtue of patience in order to overcome during tribulations. The Scripture prescribes that we be ‘Patient in tribulation’ (Romans 12:12). We must have patience in controlling our soul in time of temptations. In wielding the weapon of patience, we must overcome Satan’s strategy to pull us away from godliness. Sometimes, Satan uses the ridicule and shame during trials to weaken our resolve to wait for God.
You must be determined to be patient to overcome the pressure of impatience and self-management. Today, as you go out, overcome Satan by choosing to be patient in tribulation and wait patiently for God’s deliverance. Job, Joseph and Ruth are examples of patient saints to emulate. Love God and serve Him with patience as we await the Lord’s coming. Welcome to the last month of the year!
