“I Will Keep God’s Precepts”
Wednesday, June 4, 2025Key Verse
“The proud have forged a lie against me; but I will keep thy percepts with my whole heart” (Psalm 119:69).
Text —Psalm 119:65-72
Message
Ezra Taft Benson says, “One of Satan’s most frequently used deceptions is the notion that the commandments of God are meant to restrict freedom and limit happiness.” But God requires us to keep His precepts not only as a mark of our love for Him but also because He blesses those who obey Him. Moreover, it prevents violence and builds peace among neighbours. To keep such precepts, you must receive Jesus to have the power to become God’s child. Only then can you hate what God hates, such as: fornication, adultery, murder, stealing, false witness, and covetousness. No wonder Joseph asked Potiphar’s wife when she was tempting him to sin, “…how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” Keeping God’s precepts simply means loving God and then your neighbour as yourself.
Friend, learn to keep God’s precepts with your whole heart to avoid His retribution. Remember, the consequences of sin and iniquity are grave. God wants a life full of blessings for you here on earth and in eternity. Let your schoolmates know God’s precepts through you.
