Text — Matthew 28:1-7
Message
Ben’s brother, Williams travelled overseas since Ben was in primary two. He had never visited home. While abroad, Williams completed his university education and started work. One day, Ben was coming back from school, he met a friend on the way who asked “Ben, have you heard?” Ben replied almost immediately, “heard what?” The friend told Ben, “Your brother, Williams arrived from overseas with several travelling bags full of expensive items”. Immediately, Ben started running home shouting “good news, good news”. Of all the good news we hear in this world, none is as surprising as the news of somebody who died and came back to life. Whenever this happens, people all over the city and outside the city often travel down to see the dead who has risen from the dead. People want to see and hear the one who rose from death. The family of the risen dead will be full of joy and gladness.
Such was the situation of the disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ when He rose from the dead. Friends of Jesus like Peter, John, Mary Magdalene, James and others were filled with joy. This is because the resurrection of Jesus is a confirmation that He is truly the Son of God and the only Saviour of the world. It also means there is hope for all friends of Jesus that He will take them to heaven as He has promised. This is the greatest news that many people are yet to hear. It is your duty to spread this good news. If you have heard and benefitted from the resurrection power of Jesus, then go out and share the great news.
