“God Cannot Lie – Part 1”
Thursday, May 15, 2025Key Verse
“Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.” Psalm 89:35
Text — Psalm 89:34-37
Message
A lie is a deliberate act of saying something that is not true. It is a way of deceiving another person. Lie has now become a second language to many people both adults and children. Rulers lie to their subjects, some parents lie to their children and in the same way children lie to their parents. This act of lying is the root cause of many problems in the society. God hates lies because His nature is truth and perfect. He can never lie.
Our key verse shows how God personally proved His faithfulness to David. He made a covenant; an everlasting agreement with him. God spoke, and on His part He would never alter the thing that has gone out of His lips. There must have been something very special in the life of this person called, David. God said, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.” (Acts 13:22b).
God Almighty swore in His holiness to favour David. God was saying as long as His nature of holiness cannot change, then His promises to David cannot change. The promise was not only to him, the goodness of God to this man was extended to his spiritual and physical children. Surrender yourself and become a child after God’s heart, beloved and cherished by Him. Then God’s promises will be fulfilled in your life.
