“Give Your Best To God”

Key Verse

“And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So, David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver” (2 Samuel 24:24).

Text —2 Samuel 24:22-25

Message

Giving is an act of being generous. God demands that His children give unreservedly. God was angered by the action of king David for numbering Israel and Judah against His will. They suffered His wrath as a result. Prophet Gad instructed king David to build an altar unto the Lord in the threshing place of Araunah the Jebusite, to stay the plague. Araunah was willing to give his threshing floor without a reward in return. He willingly offered his threshing floor for the benefit of the land. However, It will definitely cost us something if we must give our best to God. Therefore, David told Araunah that he would not offer burnt offering to the Lord based on anything that would cost him nothing.

The gift of your time, talents, and treasures, will mean nothing to the Lord if you have not genuinely given Him your heart. Your heart is the best gift you can offer to God. The offerings of sinners and backsliders are unacceptable to Him, except they repent. Give yourself wholly to God!

Quote
