“EXEMPLARY IN INTEGRITY”
Wednesday, February 26, 2025Key Verse
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12).
Text —1 Timothy 4:12-16
Message
An African proverb says, “If a child washes his hands clean he eats with elders.” Leadership is like a locomotive engine that drives a train. Failure of leadership leads to failure of followers, be it in the home, school, church or community. Timothy was ordained the Bishop of the church in Ephesus. He was like a child who washed his hands clean and was qualified to dine with elders. He was charged to lead others by good example. Confidently, Apostle Paul said of him, “For I have no man like-minded, who will naturally care for your state…But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel” (Philippians 2:20, 22). Though a youth, Paul rated him high on the bases of his character, conduct, diligence, and faith as evidenced in his lifestyle.
The secrets of maturing a youth to respectable spiritual status are emphasized in our text. They include reading, prayer and meditation upon the sound teaching received. Joseph and Samuel were other youths of integrity. Aspire and pray to be one.
