Message
Repercussion awaits every evil deed that is being perpetrated by evil doers. Sin always breeds consequence. One’s spiritual life will not grow and thrive when the Spirit of God reveals his or her sin but he or she ignores it. A Christian writer posits that, “The life, vigour and comfort of our spiritual life depend much upon our mortification of sin.” Eli’s sinning youths brought calamity to the entire family because of their uncontrollable quest and practice of abominable sin. Their father knew about it and did not discipline them appropriately. God withdrew the eternal privilege He promised Eli, the priest and he was not spared of the divine judgement.
“Sin is the ruin and misery of the soul, it is destructive in its nature; and if God should leave it without restraint, there would need nothing else to make the soul perfectly miserable”, said Jonathan Edwards. Keep yourself from evil by being born again if you have not done so yet. Follow the footsteps of Jesus to avoid being a sinning youth. Obedience to the word of God brings blessings.
