Key Verse
“So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.” John 21:15
Text — John 21:15-17
Message
A popular saying goes thus: “action speaks louder than words”, this is true. A lot of people like saying different things that they end up not doing and God is not happy with such attitude. In our text, Jesus was asking Peter if He Ioved Him and Peter quickly answered, “Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee”, but Jesus knows that men can easily talk and fail to do what they have said. He told Peter to prove that he loved Him by feeding his sheep (sheep there represents His friends).
Many children often make promises without thinking about it. Have you made a promise to serve God wholeheartedly? Keep to your promise. To show that you truly love the Lord, you must pledge your life to serve Him in holiness and righteousness all the days of your life. Be prayerful, do your quiet time every day, share with the needy, share the love of Jesus with sinners by preaching the gospel to them.
