“Crucified To The World”
Saturday, July 20, 2024Key Verse
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world” (Galatians 6:14).
Text — Galatians 6:11-18
Message
A story has repeatedly been told of Saint Augustine who was a wild and immoral man before he became a Christian in the late 300’s AD. After His conversion, walking in a street one day, a prostitute called out to him, but he kept on walking. She caught him, turned him around and said, “Augustine, don’t you know who I am?” Then he replied, “I do.” He further said, “But you don’t know who I am. The Augustine you knew is dead.” Augustine made the lady to know that he was dead to sin and couldn’t commit it any longer being a new creature in Christ.
In our text of today, Apostle Paul reveals that as true children of God, we should no longer be interested in the praise of this world. Are you dead to the comments, commendations and allurements of this world? Is your life now fashioned in a manner that pleases God? Until you are truly crucified unto this world of sin and the world is crucified unto you, you cannot freely live a life that pleases God.
