“Companion For The Lonely”
Sunday, April 6, 2025Key Verse
“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18
Text — Genesis 2:18-24
Message
On the sixth day of creation, God decided it would be good for Adam to have a companion and helper. There was no suitable companion among the animals. God then caused Adam to fall deeply asleep. The Lord took one of Adam’s ribs and used it to form Eve. When Adam woke up from his deep sleep, he couldn’t believe his eyes. He said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh.” Now Adam had a companion – a very special person whom he could talk with and be with all day long.
If you have ever been lonely, you will know what Adam must have felt like before God made Eve to be his friend and wife. Our experience in life often brings changes. You may have recently moved to another town, started in a new school, or moved to a class without your best friends. It is often a time of loneliness; a time of being afraid and unsure of what to expect. Remember that God will always be there for you. He will never leave your side! Although you cannot see God, you can talk to Him just like Adam did.
If you long to have a special friend, ask God to help you meet someone who is Godfearing and a lover of the word of God. God knows and understands when you are lonely because He made you to need a friend, and to be a friend to others.
