A career refers to one’s chosen profession or occupation throughout a lifetime. Having a fulfilling career is important for one’s overall achievement in life. Hence, Christian youths need to take career counselling very seriously because a mistake in career choice can lead to regrets, frustration and self-blame. Career tips are meant to guide actions, decisions, and paths you can take to develop yourself towards an occupational choice.
Identifying your career interests helps you to make a well-informed and strategic career decision to be well-equipped to pursue a career that suits your talents and aligns with your values and preferences. Identifying your career interests begins with knowing your general interests. Reflect on your hobbies and what you enjoy doing in your leisure time. Christian youths must also make sure that their career interests align with their abilities and the word of God as not all jobs are God-glorifying. Christian youths should consult God for direction in all matters, including career choice. An unbelieving youth in addition, needs to repent and become a friend of Jesus for him to enjoy divine guidance.
