“Candle of Candlestick”
Friday, July 19, 2024Key Verse
“And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick” (Mark 4:21)?
Text — Mark 4:21-25
Message
Light is so powerful that it can take a single candle to light up an auditorium full of darkness. Light indeed, symbolizes good, righteousness and love while darkness represents evil, wickedness and hate. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that,” Martin Luther King Jr. revealed. Christians are the light of the world. Our world will be full of darkness if we refuse to shine. So do not hide your light, rather, expose it to brighten the corner where you are.
Jesus Christ is the Light of the world. All youths who have accepted His free offer of salvation also become light of the world. They must rightly influence the world and bring glory to God. Billy Graham said, “We are the Bible the world is reading; we are the creed the world is needing; we are the sermons the world is heeding.” Friend, we must exhibit the virtues of honesty and trust. In a word, be holy. God expects every Christian youth to shine in the world.
