Key Verse
“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverb 28:1).
Text — Proverbs 28:1-9
Message
B.C. Newton, in his Sermon, “Bold as a Lion” said, “The righteous, however, are bold as a lion. What do they have to fear? They have not violated the law, so the law poses no threat to them. They are bold with the peace of their character.” Our opening verse tells us about the uncertainty, fear, and heartache that overwhelm the wicked. But the righteous has confidence and boldness in the face of evil. When you are saved, you are conferred with the righteousness of God through faith, which empowers you to withstand any challenges that may confront you on your journey to heaven.
There are catalogues of promises for godly youths who continue to hold on to the Lord and walk in righteousness. “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the river, they will not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” (Isaiah 43:2). No matter what may come across your way, victory is assured in the Lord.
