“Bible Animal – Lamb”

Key Verse

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29

Text — John 1:29-34

Message

Animals mentioned in the Bible symbolize various aspects of our relationships with God. They represent lessons and teachings that guide us in our journey of faith. For example, the lamb is a baby sheep and it symbolizes innocence and purity, reminding us of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for our sins.

In the Bible the lamb represents several key titles and symbols. In the Old Testament, the lamb is often associated with sacrifice and atonement for sins. In Exodus 12:3-13, the Passover lamb was sacrificed to protect the Israelites from the angel of death. This points to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who would take away the sin of the world.

In the New Testament, the Lamb is a central figure in the book of Revelation. In Revelation 5:6, Jesus is described as the Lamb who was slained, having seven horns and seven eyes, symbolizing His authority and omniscience. Through His sacrificial death, Jesus conquered sin and death, offering salvation to all who believe in Him. The symbol of the Lamb signifies Christ’s purity, innocence, and meekness. It emphasizes the humility of Jesus, who willingly laid down His life for us.

The Lamb is also a reminder of God’s love and mercy, to all sinners. Have you accepted the sacrifice of Jesus for your sins. Do not delay any longer, ask for cleansing of your sins with His blood.
