“Be Different”
Sunday, August 11, 2024Key Verse
“But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.” 1 Samuel 2:18
Text — 1 Samuel 2:12-18
Message
Little Samuel lived a godly life in the midst of wicked and corrupt sons of Eli. The sons of Eli abused the privilege of the office of priest of their father
and God was displeased with them. Samuel grew up in this corrupt environment; yet, ministered to the Lord in holiness of life. He refused to copy the evil practices of the bad boys.
The godly life of the young Samuel in Eli’s house despite the ungodly influences of the sons of Eli is a great challenge to every child of God today. We are to be different and distinct. Do not succumb to the pressure of evil practices around you.
The more the society gets corrupted, the more a believer is expected to shine the light of Jesus through holiness, honesty and transparent life. No excuse is acceptable before God for joining the evil practices in the world. It is a ‘must’ for a believer to be different and distinct in character and attitude. You are not like them because Jesus Christ paid the price to redeem you from sin and corruption. Let your life brighten the corner where you are.
