“Avoid Jehoshaphat’s Mistake – Part 2”

Key Verse

“And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.” 2 Chronicles 18:3

Text — 2 Chronicles 18:1-4

Message

God does not expect His children to associate with wicked people. Being a loving God, He wants us to bring sinners to Him but not to partake in their evil deeds. In the passage today, King Jehoshaphat, the righteous king went into friendship with the evil and unrighteous King Ahab. Their association is like light and darkness.

Despite been warned by Prophet Micaiah, Jehoshaphat still went to the war with Ahab. It was by divine intervention that he was not killed at the war front. Bad association is dangerous to our spiritual wellbeing. Believers are to be careful in their association with unbelievers. Sinners can be cunny and dangerous in their ways. Let the spirit of God be your guide at all times. Always use every opportunity you have to preach the gospel to sinners around you.
