Text — Acts 1:1-3
Message
The Book of Acts is the fifth book in the New Testament. It follows the four Gospels – four separate accounts of the life and works of Jesus Christ. While the Gospels end with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, the book of Acts begins with a brief reminder of these events. It continues with the events that led to the most significant experience of the apostles which is the Holy Ghost baptism. The coming of the Holy Spirit marks the beginning of the great exploits or acts/actions/activities of the apostles in spreading the gospel to the uttermost part of the earth. The Acts of the Apostles also referred to as the act of the Holy Spirit gives us a detailed historical fact about the exact original move of the Holy Spirit and the great works of the Apostles. It is where the New Testament church was born.
The book of Acts speaks about the Holy Spirit more than any other Bible book. It introduces the Person and power of the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit empowers believers to accomplish the Great Commission, the Church grew. This growth occurred through mission trips and church plantings. Apostle Paul is the book’s primary missionary, and Luke accompanied him on these journeys giving a first-hand account.
The Acts of Apostles is still available today, God is still using His servants to perform miracles, signs and wonders. Be counted among the faithful apostles.
