Key Verse

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word” (Psalm 119:9).

TEXT — Psalm 119:9-16

Message

When in 1977, the United Nations adopted March 8 of every year as International Women’s Day, it was moving in consonance with the word of God that gives women a key role as the keepers of the house (Psalm 113:9). The declaration salutes the female gender as partners in the divine scheme to raise godly generations, beginning in the home. Women bear the responsibility of building the family as the first teachers of the child, and therefore the ultimate molders and cleansers of society.

It is impossible to meet this goal without adherence to the totality of the Scriptures. “Wherewithal shall a young man (or the entire mankind) cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word”. Society cannot enjoy lasting peace, prosperity, and progress if it offers only secular education at home and in school. Nor can it hand over an enduring legacy to the generations to come without heaven’s input.

Repeatedly, history has taught that man’s problems have been self-inflicted as a result of his wilful rejection of God and His order of rules and regulations. Instead of delighting themselves in His statutes like the psalmist, men, and women thrill themselves with their fanciful scientific and technological inventions that leave them no time for their Maker. This is driving man along a journey of desolation, defeat, and death.

Although the Lord is enlisting men and women in the great project of morally cleaning up our communities, His charge is still that we must be guided by His Word. The process cannot be exclusively secular. There must be no carnal considerations to please man. His laws on living righteously and love for heaven and for fellow man as presented in the Bible must be the substructure of all what we build.

  1. I find out that there is no opening prayer and closing prayer in this new pattern of Daily Manna and it is very important God is the owner of the Scriptures

    1. This is actually a personal quiet time reading. Before reading the bible during the quiet time, you are supposed to have prayed personally and sang praises to God, in the name of Jesus Christ our savior.

Personal quiet time takes this pattern:

      * Pray to God (opening prayer )
      *Sing praises to God
      *Read your Bible
*Meditate on what you read from the Bible
*Pray again to God, with praises and thanks giving.

      1. But there is prayer said after Higher Everyday for the Youth and Sincere Milk. Praying with listeners @ the end of the devotional will be SUPERB. Prayers can never be too much

  4. Good morning ma /sir. Please, let the our reader start the reading with prayers and end up with prayers as of the former. Thanks and God bless you richly in Jesus Name Amen.

  5. I like the way the presentation was made starting with today’s being women’s day and women being the builders of the home starting the teaching of the children; then seamlessly bringing in the subject of the needing for the word of God to build an individual.

  6. But there is prayer said after Higher Everyday for the Youth and Sincere Milk. Praying with listeners @ the end of the devotional will be SUPERB. Prayers can never be too much

  7. Please sirs kindly help to adjust the player do that we can rewind or fast-forward it Incase we miss any statement it doesn’t have to start from beginning again. It was like that before now. God bless you all
