“A Sealed Book And The Lion”
Wednesday, May 7, 2025Key Verse
“And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals” (Revelation 5:1)
Text —Revelation 5:1-6
Message
John, the Revelator saw in the hands of Almighty God a book sealed with seven seals. The contents were hidden. God had said to Prophet Daniel, “Shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end…” (Daniel 12:4). In our text, after Jesus had ascended to heaven, the book was still sealed. To open the seals, no one was found worthy both in heaven among the angels, and on earth. This made John to weep, but one of the elders announced that, “the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”
Jesus Christ’s ability to take the book and to open the seals signifies His greatness and authority. He made known to His servant, John the revelation which God had given Him. As each successive seal was opened, successive portions of the writing in the book became accessible. May God, who is All Wise and All Knowing reveal to you hidden things now and in the future in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
To open the seals, no one was found worthy
Challenge
Jesus only is worthy to take the book and open its seals.
