Key Verse
“And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.” 2 Chronicles 18:31
Text — 2Chronicles 18:31-34
Message
King Jehoshaphat learnt a bitter lesson about the danger of bad company. His friend, King Ahab deceived him to wear his royal robe to the war front. The enemies were only after the life of the king of Israel who had disguised himself. Jehoshaphat who wore his royal garment became the target of the enemy soldiers. It was a scary moment for King Jehoshaphat.
Sinners are evil and dangerous. We should be as wise as a serpent and as harmless as a dove in the world. But for God’s intervention, the Syrian army would have attacked and killed him. He was completely ignorant of the plan of the wicked and dubious King Ahab. The Lord will continue to preserve and protect you from evil as you separate yourself from the evil in the world and serve Him faithfully.
