“Power of Partnership Prayer”
Friday, January 31, 2025Key Verse
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed” (Acts 16:25, 26).
Text —Acts 16:19-26
Message
Our text narrates the persecution and imprisonment of Apostles Paul and Silas, for casting out the spirit of divination from a damsel who brought her masters much gain by soothsaying. Her masters, seeing that the hope of their gain was gone, instigated the imprisonment of the duo. Rather than resorting to self-pity they prayed and sang praises unto God who miraculously shook the foundation of the prison, opened the doors and loosened the bands of all prisoners. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour.” Paul and Silas had a good reward for their labour. Do you have a prayer partner?
There is power in partnership prayer. If you don’t have a prayer partner, prayerfully choose one of the same sex and like-precious faith. Having a prayer partner is a potent weapon against the devil. There is power in partnership prayer for victory over challenges. When faced with fear, persecutions, defeat or difficulties in your studies, or career, always resort to partnership prayer like Paul and Silas. Surely, God will give you victory.
